LINCOLN, NE. - The Tri-City Storm downed the Lincoln Stars 6-3 at the Ice Box Saturday night to improve to 15-3-1-0 on the 2021-2022 regular season. Lleyton Roed, Gavin Brindley, Mitchell Miller, Jeremy Wilmer, Christian Fitzgerald, and Cole O'Hara all scored goals for the Storm in the victory. Arsenii Sergeev turned away 25 of Lincoln's 28 shots on goal to record the victory in net for Tri-City.

Lleyton Roed netted a shorthanded goal at 6:21 of the 1st period to give Tri-City a one-goal lead. The goal was Roed's seventh of the season and was assisted by Mason Wheeler. Gavin Brindley netted his tenth goal of the season at 9:01 of the 1st period to give Tri-City a 2-0 advantage in the game. Brindley's goal was one of three powerplay goals scored by the Storm during the game. Thirty-seven seconds later, Lucas Wahlin notched his seventh goal of the season to cut Tri-City's lead in half. The goal was scored even strength. Mitchell Miller scored his tenth goal of the year at 14:03 of the 1st period to give the Storm a 3-1 lead in the game. The goal was netted on the powerplay and was assisted by Vinny Borgesi. Tri-City outshot Lincoln 16-6 in the 1st period.

Lucas Wahlin scored his eighth goal of the season at 10:34 of the 2nd period to bring the game to a 3-2 score. With less than five minutes to play in Saturday's 2nd period, Jeremy Wilmer scored his ninth goal of the season to give the Storm another two-goal lead in the game. Ilya Nikolaev recorded an assist on the scoring play. The Stars outshot the Storm 14-3 in the 2nd period and Tri-City carried a 4-2 lead into the 3rd period.

Christian Fitzgerald netted his fourth goal of the season at 8:01 of the 3rd period to give the Storm a 5-2 lead in the game. Fitzgerald's goal was assisted by Tanner Adams. Lincoln's Dalton Norris scored his eighth goal of the season at 11:25 of the period to bring the Stars back within two goals of the Storm's lead. The final goal of Saturday's game was scored by Cole O'Hara at 12:50 of the 3rd period. O'Hara's goal was his eighth of the season and was scored on the powerplay.

Arsenii Sergeev improved to 12-1-0-0 on the season in goal for the Storm in the road victory. After scoring three powerplay goals on eight opportunities, Tri-City's powerplay climbed to 1st place in the USHL in the win (26.4%). Tri-City's penalty kill also took over the top ranking in the league after going seven for eight during the game (87.5%). The Storm has now won both head-to-head matchups against the Stars this season by a combined score of 10-4. Tri-City continues to lead the USHL with the best winning percentage of any team this season (.816%).
