February 20, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Summerside Storm News Release
(Summerside PE) The Storm we unable to take the lead today, loosing 123-114 to Quebec; but the fans helped them give a lot away. The 4017-person crowd was a record breaker for the team.
The game remained evenly matched for most of the game, with Summerside shooting 47% to Quebec's 51%. However, the Storm was unable to recover from a run late in the third quarter from Quebec, and this cost them the game.
The Islanders Helping Islanders theme was strong throughout the crowd this afternoon, with the focus being on the Bring Bobby Jo Home Campaign. When the buckets were passed around, the crowd came up with $1554, this will be added to ticket sales from last week that were also sold in support of Bobbi Jo. There was a special cheque presentation to The Three Oaks High School basketball program for 50/50 funds raised so far, totally $4058, and the 50/50 take was also a record at $3559.
The Storm play next on March 2nd at home, 7:30pm, taking on The Oshawa Power, for tickets and more information on the team, please visit www.stormbasketball.ca.
