
Storm Comeback Falls Short as Rainmen Win 7th Straight

(Charlottetown, PE) After trailing in the 4th quarter by as many as 18 points, the Island STORM fought back to within 3 points but could not sustain the momentum as the Halifax Rainmen won their 7th straight game, 110-107 at Eastlink Centre on Thursday night in Charlottetown.
The STORM held a 2 point lead at the half but the Rainmen put in a great third quarter outscoring the STORM by 14 points to hold a 83-71 after the third.
With the win the Rainmen keep their hopes alive for first place in the Atlantic Division, held by the STORM, heading into the final week of the regular season.
Nick Okorie led the STORM attack with 27 points while Mike Martin scored 15, Billy Rush 13, along with Brandon Robinson and Nick Evans with 10 each. Evans also added 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Meanwhile, Halifax was led by Forrest Fisher who scored 18 points which included 4 for 7 from the 3 point line. Seiya Ando added 17 points for the Rainmen while Liam McMorrow scored 15, with Kevin Young scoring 14 to go with 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Next action for the STORM comes up at home this coming Sunday afternoon when the Saint John Mill Rats visit Eastlink Centre for a 2pm starter.
