TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo scored two goals within a span of 16 seconds in the third period, to salt away Mississippi, 5-2. The Sea Wolves suffered a setback for a season-high fourth straight game, all on the road.

Toledo (30-9-7) opened the score at the 15:16 mark. Storm rookie Darryl Bootland stepped out of the penalty box and intercepted a pass, darted in on a breakaway and roofed the puck over Greg Gardner. The unassisted goal was Bootland's 15th of the year.

Mississippi (26-17-4) responded less than two minutes later. Sea Wolves veteran Dave Paradise deposited a shot past Mike Minard, tying the score 1-1. Paradise tallied his 25th of the campaign.

In the second, the Storm regained the lead at the 3:08 mark. Tim Verbeek tallied his 10th marker of the season, giving Toledo the upper hand at 2-1

The Storm grabbed a two-goal lead. Dale Junkin notched his seventh of the year, burying a shot from the slot on power play at 7:11.

The Sea Wolves scored a goal with a man advantage of their own. Mike Scott registered his 13th of the season, making it 3-2 for Toledo.

In the third, the Storm counted their second power play goal of the game. Trevor Read let go with a blast from the left point, which found its way through traffic at 8:17.

Then 16 seconds later, Wes Mason counted an even strength goal to round out the scoring.

Sea Wolves veteran Cody Bowtell injured his leg part way through the game and did not return. The severity of the injury will not known until further tests are done.

Gardner stopped 29-of-34 to drop to 20-13-4. Minard surrendered two goals on 24 shots, raising his record to 3-2-3.

Mississippi converted on 1-of-8 chances with the man advantage. Toledo went 2-for-9 on the power play.
