Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League announces today that defensive end Austin Flyger will be leaving the Storm team for the remainder of the season. Flyger will be pursuing job opportunities sailing the North Pacific on an Alaskan fishing schooner. Austin has had a tremendous season with a team high 8 sacks and 31 tackles including 20 solo stops. Twice this season Austin has collected two quarterback sacks in a single game, once at Lincoln and once in Sioux Falls versus Billings. Austin and the Storm both knew of this job opportunity before the start of the 2004 season and Flyger will leave on both a high note and of utmost respect from the Storm organization. But, the Storm look forward to seeing Austin Flyger back in the action for Storm's 2005 season.

"Austin is a great kid and I know it hurts him to leave in the midst of something special here with the Storm, but I have nothing but respect for the kid and we knew before the season started that this day was to come. He's a player who has a motor that NEVER stops and comes from a great family. We will miss his presence on and off the field, but we look forward to bringing him back next season," say general manager, Colin Steen.

Ryan Terry, 6'3, 340 lbs., will be returning to the Storm's lineup after returning from the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League. Ryan was picked up on May 6th by Dallas to finish out the remainder of their season and with Dallas' season over, Ryan has returned to the Storm's defensive line. Ryan Terry has been the anchor for the Storm defensive line since joining the team in the second week of the season. The former University of Miami-Ohio standout registered 16 tackles and 1 sack in just five games for the Storm.

"With the loss of Austin Flyger, Ryan Terry will help keep the Storm's defensive torch burning. Ryan Terry was a huge asset at the beginning of the season and we will look to him again for big plays," states Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs.

The Storm will travel to Rapid City this weekend for an I-90 showdown against the Black Hills Red Dogs. Listen to the game Live on KELO AM 1320 at 8:05 pm central time. For more information the Storm front office at 605-332-4225. Don't miss the BIGGEST SHOW IN TOWN... the Sioux Falls Storm!
