Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm (6-1) are back at the Storm Shelter Saturday night at 7:05pm as they welcome the Colorado Ice (0-7). Avera is the proud sponsor of "Ladies' Night" and brings fans the first home Storm game in 4 weeks.
The Storm are coming off a much needed bye week after an important win on the road against the Wichita Wild that gave the Storm the lead in the Central West Division and Kurtiss Riggs his 100th win. Sioux Falls trailed the entire game until kicker, Rob Zarrilli, nailed a 38 yard field goal with only 10 seconds left on the clock. Zarrilli was responsible for all Storm points until the 4th quarter James Jones came up with a key touchdown. Terrence Bryant finished the night 16 of 28 for 121 yards and 1 touchdown. The "Thunder Defense" had an outstanding night holding Wild quarterback, Dixie Wooten, to just over 100 yards passing on the night.
The Colorado Ice come to town after a 47-41 road loss to the only undefeated team in the IFL the Amarillo Venom. The Venom handed the Ice their seventh consecutive loss for the 2010 season. Statistically speaking the game was neck and neck. The Ice led the entire first half, but the Venom rushing game proved to be too much with 130 yards.
