
Storm Announces Final 2008 Roster

SEATTLE, Friday, May 16, 2008 - Three former WNBA MVP's and five All-Stars highlight the final roster for the 2008 Seattle Storm. The Storm is also heading into the 2008 season under new leadership, from the local owners of Force 10 Hoops L.L.C., to the new coaching staff, led by head coach Brian Agler.
Returning players from the 2007 Storm season are All-Star Sue Bird, reigning WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson, forward Shyra Ely, guard Katie Gearlds, center Ashley Robinson and guard Tanisha Wright. Key additions to the roster are former league MVPs Yolanda Griffith and Sheryl Swoopes, along with former All-Star Swin Cash.
The Storm opens their ninth WNBA season at KeyArena against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m. PDT, with local radio coverage on Alternative Talk KKNW-AM 1150. On Tuesday, May 20, the Storm takes on the Sacramento Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. PDT at KeyArena on ESPN2, before traveling to play the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday, May 22 and the San Antonio Silver Stars on Saturday, May 24, which will be televised on ABC at 12:30 p.m. PDT.
