Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm has acquired defenseman Mitchell Miller from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in exchange for draft considerations. Miller was a member of Team USA's Gold Medal winning team at the 2018 World Junior A challenge and is eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft.

Mitchell Miller, 17, of Sylvania, Ohio skated in forty-eight games during the 2018-2019 season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, scoring four goals, and providing the RoughRiders offense with twelve assists during the regular season. Miller also appeared in six games for Cedar Rapids during the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs. Prior to the 2018-2019 season, he skated in two games during the 2017-2018 regular season as a 16-year-old. He netted his 1st Career USHL Goal on October 13th, 2018 in a 6-3 loss to the Sioux City Musketeers. Miller was the RoughRiders 17th overall draft selection in Round #2 of the 2017 USHL Phase I Draft. Prior to his time in the USHL, Miller skated with both the Compuware and Honeyaked youth programs in Michigan. Miller previously announced a commitment to play college hockey at the University of North Dakota.

"Mitchell is a guy with a year under his belt in our league, and he plays the position the way we want guys to play. He was on our Gold Medal winning team at the World Junior A Challenge this year, and we believe he will bring a veteran presence to our lineup and will also provide offense from the back end." GM/Head Coach Anthony Noreen
