Stockton Kings News Release
Stockton, Calif. - On Monday, August 5, the Stockton Kings will return to Stagg High School to host a back to school rally and launch their attendance incentive program ahead of the 2019-20 season. As the Stockton Kings continue to encourage education throughout the San Joaquin Valley, they will introduce an attendance incentive program for the second year in a row.
"Last year we were thrilled to find out the programs implemented by the Stockton Kings, including Kings Closet, encouraged Stagg High School students to achieve the school's highest perfect attendance record." Said Stockton Kings Vice President of Business Operations, Dustin Toms.
The attendance program - first introduced last fall - provides free tickets and on court recognition at a Stockton Kings game to all students who obtain perfect attendance during the upcoming 2019 Fall Semester. The program helped the high school achieved its best attendance rate in the school's 60-year history.
Earlier this year, the Stockton Kings, in partnership with Stagg High School, opened Kings Closet at Stagg High School to provide underprivilege youth with hygiene, clothing and other items they may not have access to. Stagg High School has the highest percentage of homeless and foster youth in Stockton Unified School District. Any student in need has access to the closet.
"The Stockton Kings have been a wonderful addition to the Stockton community, and especially for our Stagg High School community," said Stagg High School Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Berg. "On behalf of Stagg High School, I want to thank the entire organization for everything they have done to help encourage and motivate our students, including this rally we are holding for the second consecutive year."
