STLFC's Joaquin Rivas Called into National Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis FC midfielder Joaquin Rivas was called into the El Salvador National Team for an upcoming friendly against Guatemala on March 6th at 9:00 p.m. CT in Los Angeles.

Rivas made his international debut on November 16th, 2018 in a CONCACAF Nations League qualifier against Bermuda and scored his first international goal four days later in a friendly against Haiti. Born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, he was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and won the Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year before attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Rivas also played for Kitsap Pumas during the 2014 USL PDL season where he made 13 appearances before signing with Sacramento Republic FC. He was signed by Saint Louis FC this year after playing for Tulsa Roughnecks FC over the last two seasons with 61 appearances and 17 goals scored in USL Championship competition.

"I would say being able to represent your country is something very special for a soccer player," said Rivas. "We all dream of moments like these."

Saint Louis FC opens the USL Championship regular season at home on Saturday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m. CT against Indy Eleven.
