LAST TIME OUT: In its 15th and final away match of 2015, Saint Louis FC played to a 0-0 draw against Harrisburg City Islanders last Sunday at Skyline Sports Complex. Goalkeeper Alec Kann made six saves in net to preserve his fifth shutout of the season. After posting a road record of 4-2-3 through the first five months of the season, Saint Louis went 0-3-2 in its final five away games.
THE OPPONENT: Charlotte Independence enters Saturday's match on a 12-match unbeaten streak (6-0-6). Charlotte has scored 22 goals in that 12-game span, and is coming off a 4-1 win over Toronto FC II on Wednesday night. With 40 points, the Independence are currently fifth in the USL Eastern Conference standings.
THE SERIES: STL FC and Charlotte met for the first time on July 4, with Saint Louis prevailing 2-1 at Ramblewood Stadium. After Daniel Jackson equalized for the Independence in the 68th minute, substitute Kingsley Bryce scored his first goal of the season in the final minutes of the match to lift STL FC to victory. Parker Maher also registered a goal in the win.
FINAL HOMESTAND: After facing Charlotte on Saturday night, STL FC will host its regular season finale with a match against Louisville City FC on September 19 at WWT Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
