South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays celebrated Thanksgiving against the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Toledo Walleye for a week record of 1-2-0-0. On Tuesday, Gladiators goaltender Chris Carrozzi stopped all 20 Stingrays shots and forwards Ian McKenzie and Aaron Bendickson netted goals as Gwinnett blanked the Stingrays 2-0 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Gladiators carried their strong play into the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday defeating the Stingrays 1-0. Netminder Billy Sauer recorded his first professional shutout kicking away 32 Stingrays shots. The Stingrays snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday defeating the Toledo Walleye 3-2 behind a three-point night from forward Rob Ricci (1g, 2a). Ricci assisted on David de Kastrozza's power play goal in the first period, buried his second short-handed marker of the season midway through the second frame and contributed to Matt Scherer's game-winning tally in the third.
