South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - South Carolina Stingrays forwards Matt Scherer, Ryan Del Monte and Assistant Coach Spencer Carbery will take the ice for the Hockey Players for Kids (HP4K) Classic charity hockey game on Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gale Center in Niagara Falls, ON.
The HP4K Classic brings members of HP4K, various hockey celebrities and local talent together for a day of fun and hockey in the Niagara area. The Classic gives spectators a chance to watch HP4K members such as Darroll Powe of the Philadelphia Flyers, Erik Condra and Colin Greening of the Ottawa Senators and Mike Moore of the San Jose and Worcester Sharks. The Classic also features well-known Niagara resident Kevin Dallman, who played in the NHL and Russian KHL. The night includes auctions for jerseys and memorabilia such as an autographed Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh Penguins jersey and a Philadelphia Flyers jersey signed by the 2009-10 team. All proceeds from the auction will raise awareness for HP4K and community initiatives around the world.
Hockey Players for Kids' mission is to harness the leadership, enthusiasm and public goodwill of professional hockey players and use it to impact the lives of local children. HP4K also acts as a forum to foster the personal growth and development of its members. Founded in Cincinnati, OH in 2009, HP4K has more than 70 members in 30 cities and eight countries around the world. For more information on HP4K and the HP4K Classic, visit www.hp4k.org .
