Stingrays Sign Goaltender Rob Madore

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that the team has signed goaltender Rob Madore. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Madore, 24, joins the Stingrays after appearing in 12 games with the Chicago Express of the ECHL earning an 8-3-1 record with a 2.41 goals-against average and .926 save percentage. Before the Express, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native completed a four-year collegiate career at the University of Vermont where he went 41-64-20 with a 2.91 goals-against average and .902 save percentage and was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team last season. Madore finished his career with the Catamounts second all-time in saves (3,352) behind NHL all-star goaltender Tim Thomas, third in games played (127) behind Thomas and netminder Joe Fallon, fourth in goals-against average, fifth in save percentage and sixth in wins.
