
Stingrays Reach Season-High Nine Game Unbeaten Streak

The Stingrays completed pushed their unbeaten streak to nine games facing the Elmira Jackals, Trenton Devils, Gwinnett Gladiators and Charlotte Checkers this past week for a record of 3-0-0-1. On Tuesday, the Stingrays earned a 4-3 shootout victory over the Jackals in Elmira, NY. Stingrays forward Spencer Carbery tallied his first two goals of the season and defenseman Zach Tarkir scored late on the power play to send the game into overtime and eventually the shootout. Nikita Kashirsky and Rob Ricci converted on the breakaway to seal the victory. The next day the Stingrays traveled to Trenton and skated away with a 6-3 victory over the Devils. Forwards Matt Fornataro, Keith Johnson, Carbery, Gregg Johnson, Michael Dubuc and Tarkir registered multiple points. With the victory, goaltender Todd Ford pushed his winning streak to 5-0 in his last five starts. South Carolina made their way to Gwinnett Friday night for their fourth matchup against the Gladiators. Dubuc and Fornataro each scored goals, but the Gladiators tied the game late in the third period to send the game into overtime. The Gladiators eventually prevailed in the shootout 3-2. Friday's game marked the fourth time in four contests that overtime was needed between the two teams and the second time the game was sent into a shootout. The week concluded with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Charlotte Checkers at North Charleston Coliseum. The contest was the first in three weeks for the Stingrays on home ice. Keith Johnson and Kashirsky posted goals for South Carolina and Dylan Yeo and Johnson scored in the shootout for the victory.

The Stingrays are first in the South Division with 22 points and first over all in the American Conference.
South Carolina extended their unbeaten to a season-high nine games going 7-0-0-2 with a 3-2 shootout victory over Charlotte last Saturday night.
Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford is 5-0 in his last five starts with a 2.17 goals-against average and ranks 13th overall among ECHL goaltenders.
Stingrays rookie forward Nikita Kashirsky is tied for 16th overall and 3rd among rookies in the ECHL with 15 points and ranks 3rd overall in shots with 59.
Defenseman Zach Tarkir ranks 3rd among ECHL defenseman with 11 points and is tied for the team lead with two power-play goals.

Stingrays Return Home to Defeat Charlotte 3-2 in the Shootout
North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (9-2-1-3) pushed their unbeaten streak to nine games defeating the Charlotte Checkers (5-3-1-1) 3-2 in the shootout in front of 5,592 at North Charleston Coliseum Saturday night in their first game back from a nine-game road trip. The Stingrays penalty kill continues to shine killing off 6-of-6 Checker power plays and recorded their second short-handed goal of the season.

Duluth, GA -The South Carolina Stingrays (8-2-1-3) pushed their unbeaten streak to eight games falling to the Gwinnett Gladiators (6-2-1-1) 3-2 in the shootout in front of 10,583 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Stingrays conclude a nine game road trip earning 14 of a possible 18 points before heading home tomorrow to face the Charlotte Checkers.
