North Charleston, SC - The Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that rookie forward Mick Berge has re-signed with the team for the upcoming 2009-10 season. In keeping with club policy terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Berge, 24, returns after beginning his professional career with the Stingrays last March. In eight regular season games the 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward collected three goals and four penalty minutes. During the playoffs Berge tallied two points (1g, 1a) in five contests.

"He had a great career at Mankato, and then he stepped in with us last year for the last eight games of the regular season," MacLean said. "He came up when we needed him to in the playoffs, and we hope he can continue that. He's got offensive tools that will enable him to be a threat on the power play and a lot of offensive situations."

Prior to joining South Carolina the Oklahoma City, OK, native spent four seasons with Minnesota State University-Mankato, compiling 42 goals and 43 assists for 85 points in 135 games. He also played three seasons with the USHL's Lincoln Stars, amassing 117 points (35g, 82a) in 169 contests.
