SALT LAKE CITY -- Gary Johnson had two hits and two RBI, and Brandon Emanual pitched eight strong innings as the Salt Lake Stingers defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs, 4-1 on Saturday Night in Salt Lake City.

Johnson ripped a run-scoring single in the opening inning and added another RBI single in the fifth. Emanual (3-3) allowed a run, scattered three hits, issued two walks and fanned four to pick up the win. Bart Miadich worked a scoreless ninth inning, yielding two hits and striking out a pair to notch his seventh save for Salt Lake, which won its eighth consecutive game.

Royce Huffman collected two hits and Kyle Logan produced an RBI groundout to pace New Orleans. Doug Sessions (0-1) surrendered four runs and eight hits over 4 2/3 innings to take the loss for the Zephyrs, who dropped to 28-21.
