Sting sign free agent forward Linda Frohlich

The Charlotte Sting have signed 6-2 forward Linda Frohlich, it was announced today by General Manager and Head Coach Trudi Lacey. A two-year WNBA veteran and unrestricted free agent, Frohlich has posted 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 42 career games.

Drafted by the New York Liberty with the 26th overall pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft, Frohlich scored a career-high 12 points against San Antonio on August 5, 2003, and ranked 16th in the WNBA with 1.5 blocks per 40 minutes that season. Frohlich participated in training camp with the Phoenix Mercury last year, but was waived just prior to the 2004 season.

A native of Germany, Frohlich graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2002 as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,355 points. She became the first Lady Rebel to post 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds and was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year three seasons in a row (2000, 2001, 2002).

Frohlich is also a member of the German National Team and has played for the Italian team Trentino Rovereto the last two years.
