Stifling Defense Propels Beef Past Streaking Revolution

RALSTON, NE- The Omaha Beef defeated the Texas Revolution 48-34 at Ralston Arena Saturday night. The Beef now move to 3-1 with two straight wins.

Defense was a point of emphasis for the Beef. They Controlled the first quarter with their defense forcing turnovers on three straight Texas possessions. Chris Perry and Trey Dudley-Giles came away with an interception, which marks back to back games they've cause a turnover. The Beef Defense also added a goal-line stand on their own one-yard line.

Derrick Bernard had an efficient game. He threw the ball for 98-yards and two touchdowns. He also added 93-yards rushing with an average of 10-yards per carry. His ability to run the ball with a presence of mind to keep his eyes down the field, helped the beef down the stretch of the game. Antonio Bray was his favorite target throughout the game. Bray had 21-touches for 105-yards and three touchdowns.

Texas took the lead in the second quarter 20-17 behind the arm of Robert Kent. The Revolution quarterback finished the game with 245-yards passing and four touchdowns. Omaha was able to regain the lead with a touchdown run from Bray, followed by a team rogue point right before halftime. Omaha held Texas to 14-points in the second half without any points scored in the fourth quarter. Coming into the game, Texas averaged over 53 points per game. The Beef held them to 38-points, along with containing the Revolution to negative four yards rushing and 25-percent on third down.

Omaha heads out on the road to Oklahoma Saturday, May 4th. The Beef beat the Flying Aces in the opening game of the season in a thrilling fashion 59-55. Fans are encouraged to join our official Road Game Watch Party at Ozzy's Roadhouse Saturday night, doors open at 6:30 and kickoff is at 7pm.
