
Steve Young Joins Raiders Staff as Assistant General Manager/Assistant Coach

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - Prince Albert Raiders Head Coach and General Manager Bruno Campese is pleased to announce that Steve Young will join the organization as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach for the 2008-09 Western Hockey League season. Young has signed a two year contract with a club option.
Young was an assistant coach with the Moose Jaw Warriors in 2003-04 before taking over as Head Coach in December, 2004. In 2006 Young coached the Warriors to the Eastern Conference Championship before losing to the Vancouver Giants in the League Final. During the 2005-06 season, Young led Moose Jaw to the most wins (44) and points (96) in franchise history, helped them past the second round of the playoffs for the first time and engineered their longest winning streak ever (11 games).
Prior to coaching in Moose Jaw, Young was the Head Coach and General Manager of the Melville Millionaires in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League from 1997 - 2003. While with the Millionaires, Young was named Coach of the Year, All-Star Team Coach and led them to the League Championship Series.

"His experiences as a Coach and General Manager in the Saskatchewan Junior League and Western Hockey League have been paralleled with great success. Steve's experience in the WHL will assist our organization with the continued development of our players."
"I am very excited and very honoured to be with the Prince Albert Raiders", commented Young. "In the short time knowing Bruno he is someone who is very dedicated and works very hard, and someone who I would really like to work with, along with Assistant Coach Craig Bedard."
Young will join the Raiders June 1st with his family - wife Tyla, and daughters Tatum (5) and twins Kaebree and Kienna (3).
