WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC midfielder Stefan Lukic's strike on the road against Chattanooga Red Wolves has been nominated for USL League One Fans' Choice Goal of the Week.
The nomination is the second in as many weeks for Northern Colorado, who saw striker Irvin Parra take home Goal of the Week honors last week for his match-opening goal against North Carolina FC on April 30.
In the eighth minute, a Thomas Olsen goal kick found Parra at midfield, and the striker headed the ball to winger Marky Hernández, who controlled it with one touch before flicking it ahead to the charging Lukic. The Serb headed the ball down, then from the top of the penalty area fired a shot past Red Wolves goalkeeper Carlos Avilez to give the Hailstorm a 1-0 lead.
Fans have until 10:00 a.m. MT on Thursday, May 12, to vote for USL League One Fans' Choice Goal of the Week.
