Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - There will be action both on and off the ice this weekend at the Chevrolet Centre when the Hounds take on the Texas Brahmas on Friday and Saturday night.

Friday night starts Toys for Tots weekend as fans are encouraged to donate toys for charity. Also the first 500 kids 12 years old and younger will receive a SteelHounds jersey compliments of ARMSTRONG. The first 2,000 adults will receive a Columbus Blue Jackets poster. The Blue Jackets mascot Stinger and members of the Pepsi Power Patrol will be in attendance on Friday night.

Saturday night Toys for Tots weekend continues with the annual Teddy Bear Toss as fans can throw teddy bears onto the ice after the Hounds score their first goal with the bears being donated to Toys for Tots. Donate a stuffed penguin and receive a voucher for a free child's admission to the National Aviary who will be bringing a live penguin to the Chevrolet Centre on Saturday night.

Along with the Teddy Bear Toss the SteelHounds wives will be holding a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to Amazing Grace for Battered Women and Children. "The reason I chose Amazing Grace is because I grew up knowing women that were battered who never had assistance to escape their situation," said Melissa Richards the wife of SteelHounds captain Chris Richards. "The wives and the girlfriends of the Hounds have an opportunity to help families in the Mahoning Valley area where we now reside. We are honored to be able to help families enjoy the holiday season by providing gifts for the children and food for the families. Tis the season for giving so please support this great cause."

Tickets are on sale and start at $8 with great group rates available. For more information call (330) 747-PUCK.
