Gary, IN: There was no rest for the Steelheads today as they traveled through the night to Muskegon, to take on the Michigan Mayhem at 11:05 this morning after playing yesterday against Sioux Falls.
The Steelheads jumped out to an early 29-23 1st quarter lead on the Mayhem but were unable to sustain the momentum. The Mayhem swept the remaining quarters and the ball game, winning 96-90. Derek Grimm led the way for the Steelheads with 18 points. "InfinityProSports.com Player of the Game" Renaldo Major had 16 points and displayed his trademark defensive tenacity. Jemeil Rich had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Sam Mack led the Mayhem with 23 points. The loss drops the Steelheads to 14-20 on the season.
The Steelheads next face these same Mayhem in Michigan on February 17th before returning to the friendly confines of the Genesis Convention Center on February 18th as they take on the Idaho Stampede.
