
Steelhawks League Re-Brands to National Arena League...

ATLANTA, GA - In a statement made this week from team owners at their first annual league meetings, the Executive Board announced that the Arena Developmental League will re-brand to the National Arena League (NAL).
After meeting in Atlanta, Georgia for the past week, owners felt that the recent landscape of the sport along with the confidence in the product fans will see on the field made a name change feasible and the future bright for the NAL.
"The National Arena League meetings were the best I've ever been a part of," stated Steelhawks General Manager. "The collective group of equal share NAL owners were able to come to together to not only develop their vision for the 2017 season, but for years to come."
Each franchise's coaching staffs were also in attendance to help finalize rules, roster sizes, operations, and league compliance with regards to the on-field product.
Seven teams currently will make up the National Arena League. They include: Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (Allentown, PA), Dayton Wolfpack (Dayton, OH), Columbus Lions (Columbus, GA), Georgia Firebirds (Albany, GA), High Country Grizzlies (Boone, NC), Corpus Christi Rage (Corpus Christi, TX), and recent Arena Football League transplant Jacksonville Sharks (Jacksonville, FL). "We anticipate no less than eight teams for the 2017 season," stated NAL Commissioner John Gregory. "Exciting team announcements in the coming days will solidify our slate of franchises competing for this season and allow us to be in a spotlight in our sport unlike ever seen before."

The twelve game regular season league schedule is set to be released in the coming weeks from the league office with kickoff weekend slated for March 17th. The first ever NAL Championship game will be held the weekend of July 7th, 2017.
