Steelhawks Coaches Head National Bowl for 5th Straight Year...

Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are happy to announce that our own Head Coach, Chris Thompson will be leading the American Team in the 7th Annual National Bowl All-Star Games presented by East Preps LLC. This will be the fifth straight year that Thompson has been invited to the head up a team in this great event. He will guide the American Nation in the FCS National Bowl Game against the National Team, led by Coach Mike Stock -16 year veteran NFL coach, formerly of the Green Bay Packers.

There are two different games that will take place over the weekend of December 2nd through the 4th, with the FCS National Bowl game featuring smaller Division I schools and another game, the original National Bowl game, featuring smaller schools from Division II/III. Both of these National Bowl games will be held at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium.

Thompson will serve as Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator; and he will be joined on the sidelines by other veteran coaches including: Coach Phil Bogle - Offensive Line Coach/RB Coach (AFL Philadelphia Soul Assistant Head Coach/General Manager), Coach Shane Stafford - WR Coach/ Assistant Offensive Coordinator (AFL Tampa Bay Storm Assistant Coach), Coach Bernie Nowotarski - Defensive Coordinator/DB Coach (AFL Philadelphia Soul DB Coach, former Steelhawks staff member), Coach Ron James - DL Coach/Assistant Defensive Coordinator (AFL Tampa Bay Storm Head Coach), Coach Beau Bell - LB Coach (AFL Philadelphia Soul starting LB).

Even in the midst of preparing for his own season, Thompson looks forward to being a part of this event every year, "This continues to be a premier college all-star game for graduating seniors looking to continue playing at the professional level. So many scouts and pro teams will be in attendance and its growing more and more every year. I'm thrilled to be a part of it again and to work with these other outstanding professional coaches. I love this time of year as its a great gear up for the start of our seasons in February."

These National Bowl Games feature some of the best college All-Americans and All-Conference senior athletes from some of the best College and University programs from around the country. Each year these games also bring a number of professional scouts and coaches to assist and observe these participants. Many of the recent National Bowl game participants have been drafted, brought in on free agent waivers, or signed to several National Football League (NFL) teams, Canadian Football League (CFL) teams, Arena Football League (AFL) teams, or other professional indoor teams that attend. Overall, the weekend is a tremendous experience for all involved and a great opportunity for players to get in front of various professional personnel from many professional organizations.

Steelhawks' 2017 season schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Season tickets are now on sale, with packages starting as low as $48, and 'Hawks Holiday Packs will be available soon with additional ticket deals. All Steelhawks' games are played on Embassy Bank Field inside the PPL Center in Allentown.
