Steeldogs Next Open Tryout to be Held February 13th

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Birmingham Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey, entering his sixth season at the helm, announced that he is conducting a Steeldogs open tryout camp on Sunday, February 13th at Lawson Field. The camp will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m.
In addition, the Steeldogs have also announced the date of their final open tryout in preparation of the 2005 season. The final tryout date will be held on Sunday, March 6th. That tryout will begin at 12:00 p.m. also.
There is a $40 registration fee, and each participant will receive a Steeldogs Camp T-Shirt. No registrations will be accepted after 12:00 p.m. the day of the tryout. Interested individuals can pre-register by stopping by the Steeldogs Office located at the BJCC Arena.
Participants will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, long shuttle, short shuttle, standing broad jump, passing / catching drills, and other positional drills. A kickers camp will be held at a later date. A new FieldTurf surface has been installed at Lawson Field so attire for the camp is shorts and turf cleats.
