The Steel defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 7-1 on Thursday at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas ... Chicago scored a goal on two power-play chances (50.0%) and went 2-for-2 (100%) in the penalty kill department, netting a shorthanded goal ... With the win, the Steel now have a season-best eight-game win streak ... The club has prevailed in 15 of its last 16 games. Matt Coronato netted two goals, giving the rookie 20 points (9G, 11A) on the season. John Spetz potted two goals in the win. The University of Connecticut commit now has 16 points (7G, 9A) on the year. Owen Power extended his points lead among USHL defensemen with a goal and an assist in the win. The Mississauga, Ontario, native has recorded 29 points (8G, 21A) during the 2019-20 campaign. Brendan Brisson charted a power-play goal, his ninth marker with the man advantage this season. Brisson leads USHL rookies with 29 points (14G, 15A) this year. Mackie Samoskevich scored on a penalty shot, his sixth goal this season. Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and Matty De St. Phalle both posted two-helper games. Erik Middendorf, Sean Farrell and Tyler Carpenter added an assist apiece. Victor Ostman made a career-best 35 saves and pushed his record to 15-3-0-0 between the Steel pipes. It was the fifth time this season the Swedish netminder has allowed just one goal against.
