Philadelphia Union II News Release

CHESTER, Pa. - Despite a tough battle and the help of five Philadelphia Union players, Bethlehem Steel FC fell 3-0 against an Ottawa Fury FC side that is on fire in their last four matches.

The first half from the Steel looked very promising. Philadelphia Union defender Olivier Mbaizo was dominant pushing down the right wing and continued to put dangerous crosses into the box throughout the match. The Steel were able to get on the end of some opportunities, as well as earn a couple free kicks outside the box, but unfortunately were not able to capitalize. Mbaizo led the way with a team-high two shots on goal, both coming in the first half.

Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel did everything he could in the second half to keep Steel FC in the match, making four total saves, including a diving effort to his left. The Ottawa attack proved to be in great form though, adding two goals in the last 45 minutes. Union defender Fabinho, forward Michee Ngalina and midfielder Anthony Fontana put in great efforts tonight as well, with Fontana leading all Steel players with a passing accuracy of 89.5%.

Bethlehem Steel FC looks to get back on track as they welcome Louisville City FC next week to Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday, May 26 (2:00 PM ET | Talen Energy Stadium | Chester, Pa. | ESPN +).
