DUBUQUE, Iowa - Daniel Vladar continued to stymie the Dubuque Fighting Saints, making 36 saves in a 3-0 shutout, and secured a victory for his team, the Chicago Steel, on Saturday night at the Mystique Community Ice Center.

Blitzed in the third period in which the Fighting Saints were down 3-0, Vladar continually came up big for his team, making 15 of his 36 saves in the period. The Steel could only muster one shot on goal in the final period of regulation time, of which they capitalized on, a goal by Christiano Versich within the first minute. It was Versich's first tally of the season.

Chicago started the scoring moments into the second period when defenseman Adam Parsells lifted a wrist shot that partially deflected off of a Fighting Saints defenseman and into the net past Hunter Miska, who made 17 saves on the night.

They would add one more in the second period after Dubuque took consecutive stick foul penalties. Baron Thompson and Evan Smith were flagged for high-sticking, leading to a 5-on-3 opportunity. Power play specialist Jake Jaremko pounced on a rebound at the side of the goal, scoring his league-leading eighth power play goal of the year, and pacing the Steel to a 2-0 lead.

In the end, the Steel used the second period to their advantage in both games, scoring twice on 13 shots in Saturday's tussle, and once on seven shots in Friday's game. Both contained the game-winning goals.

Saturday's game progressed similarly to the night before, with the Fighting Saints coming out off the hop with pace and energy. They outshot the Steel 15-6 in the first period, and came within inches of capitalizing on their many scoring chances, coming up empty on three power plays. The Saints outshot the Steel 13-7 in the first period the night prior.

The Fighting Saints celebrated No-Shave November along with UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital and the Wendt Regional Cancer Center, and raised money with a postgame auction to benefit men's cancer awareness and initiatives locally.
