
Steamwheelers Fans Help Raise $7,160 for the Genesis Compassion Fund

(Moline, Ill.) - Quad City Steamwheelers fans helped raise $7,160 for the Genesis Compassion Fund in a helmet auction following the conclusion of the regular season finale against the Lexington Horsemen on Thursday, July 24. Quarterback J.J. Raterink's helmet was the biggest draw as it sold for $500, while wide receiver Kris Peters' went for $450.
"You could not have asked for a better night," said Shawn Brown, the Vice President/General Manager of the Steamwheelers. "We got an exciting win to seal a playoff berth, but even more importantly our fans stepped up big to help those most in need in our community."
The Genesis Compassion Fund helps provide care for seniors and children in the Quad City community.
