
Stealth ready to weather the Blizzard

Wichita, Kan. - Coming off of another impressive defensive effort over the Peoria Pirates last Friday night in Peoria, Illinois, the Wichita Stealth are back home to take on the Green Bay Blizzard Saturday April 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the Kansas Coliseum.
Last week in the return of Michael Dritlein, the Stealth offense had their best output of the young season. The Stealth had 247 total yards of offense and were led by Dritlein's eight catch 135 yard, three-touchdown night. Stealth quarterback Aaron Sparrow was 21-of-33 for 247 yards and six touchdowns.
The Stealth defense once again turned in a huge night. They only allowed 128 yards to the Pirates and held the Peoria offense scoreless in the second half to cruise to a 47-26 victory and improve their record to 3-0 for the first time in franchise history.
The Stealth lead the all-time series with the Green Bay Blizzard 2-0. The last meeting between these two teams was May 31, 2003 when the Stealth beat the Blizzard 57-36 in front of 5,212 fans at the Kansas Coliseum. Green Bay enters tomorrow night's game with a 1-1 record under first year head coach Brian Noble. The Blizzard defeated the San Diego Riptide 67-49 on April 9th and lost to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers 75-39 last weekend.
The Blizzard are led by offensive specialist Randall Lane. Lane (6-0, 200, Purdue) ranks among the af2 leaders in scoring, all-purpose yards, and receiving yards. Lane was named the af2 Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the San Diego Riptide. Lane caught 10 passes for 159 yards and six touchdowns.
STEALTH NOTES: After this Saturday's game, the Stealth will enjoy their first bye week of the 2004 season before hitting the road for three weeks when they travel to face the Rio Grande Valley Dorados on May 8th, the Quad City Steamwheelers on May 15th, and the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz on May 22nd .The next Stealth home game is set for May 29th versus the Laredo Law.
