Stealth Rallies To Beat Mammoth

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Stealth held the Colorado Mammoth scoreless for more than 19 minutes on Friday night, providing the rally that led to an 11-10 victory at the HP Pavilion.

The Stealth outscored the Mammoth 7-2 in the second half to earn the win in the National Lacrosse League regular-season finale for both teams. The Mammoth (12-4) clinched the West Division title on Thursday night in Denver with a win over the Stealth. San Jose (9-7) has clinched one of the West's four playoff berths.

The Mammoth will host a West Division Semifinal at Pepsi Center on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. against the Stealth, Arizona Sting or Calgary Roughnecks.

The Mammoth dominated early on Friday night, building a 4-0 lead and extending it to 6-1 in the second quarter. But the offense went cold after the Mammoth took an 8-4 lead into halftime and Stealth goaltender Anthony Cosmo finished with 53 saves to earn the victory.

Mammoth captain Gavin Prout led the team with three goals and seven points while Dan Carey had a team-high five assists. Mammoth goaltender Chris Levis made 41 saves in the losing effort.

Gary Rosyski led the Stealth with four goals and Luke Wiles had four assists.
