
Stealth fall to Talons

Tulsa, Okla. - The Stealth traveled into unfriendly territory tonight when they walked into the Tulsa Convention Center. The Stealth have an all-time record of 0-3 in Tulsa and unfortunately for the Stealth this night would not be the night the streak was broken as the Talons would defeat the Stealth 62-49 in front of 4,198 fans at the Tulsa Convention Center. The Stealth drop to 6-3 on the season and are now tied with the Talons for second place in the Southwest Division.
Special teams played a huge part in this game as they accounted for a total of two kickoff returns for touchdowns, one for each team, and net rebound recoveries set up two scores, one for each team. For the Stealth, Damon Thompson returned five kicks for 124 yards and for the Talons, Bjorn Barre, who was with the Stealth in training camp, accounted for four returns for 110 yards and one touchdown.
The Talons would take over the game in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from Bob Bees to Robert Reed giving Tulsa the 20-17 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, special teams would get another touchdown on the night, but this time it was not for the Stealth return team rather it was for the Tulsa Talons. On the return, Norman Mason could not find his way out of the end zone and fumbled the ball. The Talons would recover the ball for a touchdown putting them up 27-17 with 13:38 left in the second quarter.
Bob Bees and Robert Reed would lead the Talons on the night. Bees would end the night 29-of-36 for 287 yards and six touchdowns. Reed would catch 14 passes for 147 yards and four touchdowns.
Stealth quarterback Jonathan Beasley who was 12-of-27 for 186 yards and six touchdowns on the night led the Stealth. Beasley has now thrown for 12 touchdowns in his first two starts for the Stealth. Offensive Specialist Damon Thompson caught seven balls for 116 yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively for the Stealth, defensive specialist Ty Ardoin would break a Stealth individual game high this season with 14 tackles on the night. Ardoin would earn the ADT Defensive Player of the Game award for his performance.
Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game was Tulsa offensive specialist Robert Reed and the U.S. Army Ironman of the Game was Tulsa wide receiver/linebacker Bjorn Barre.
The Stealth drop to 1-6 all-time versus the Talons and 0-4 at the Tulsa Convention Center.
