LAREDO, Texas – The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz scored on their first ten possessions of the game and beat the Laredo Law 66-44 on Saturday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Law dropped to 2-7, while the Yard Dawgz improved to 7-2. The Law is home this coming Friday against the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. The Laredo Law took the opening kickoff and marched quickly down the field. On fourth down the Law tried a 20-yard field goal that was pushed wide right, but the kicker Brian Hegnauer recovered the ball off the netting for a TD. The Yard Dawgz quickly tied the game as QB Craig Strickland capped a five play drive with a three yard TD run.

Early in the second quarter Oklahoma City took the lead as Strickland fired a 17-yard TD pass to WR/DB Timon Marshall for a 14-7 lead. On the next Law possession Laredo QB Rocky Perez was intercepted by Yard Dawgz defensive specialist Gana Joseph who returned the ball to the Law 12 yard line. Oklahoma City immediately capitalized as FB/LB Daryl Richardson ran around the left corner for a four yard TD run to make it 21-7. Laredo rallied with a seven play 45-yard drive that WR/DB P.J. Winston capped off with a one-yard TD run around the left side to bring the Law within 21-14. The Yard Dawgz extended their lead back to two touchdowns as Strickland connected on a 12-yard pass to offensive specialist Kris Peters for a 28-14 lead. Laredo drove down the field and scored on a three yard QB sneak by Perez with 16.3 seconds to go in the half. Oklahoma City closed a high scoring second quarter with a 43-yard field goal by kicker Peter Martinez for a 31-21 halftime advantage.

The Yard Dawgz took over the game in the second half. Strickland led Oklahoma City to touchdowns on their first two possessions capping each with TD passes. The first TD came from six yards out to WR/DB Sean Love and the second to Peters to make it 45-21. The Law got on the scoreboard in the third with a 38-yard TD pass from Perez to WR/DB Terrance Minor. The Law tried an onside kick, but Matt Robillard returned it eight yards for a TD and a 52-27 Yard Dawgz lead.

In the fourth quarter the Law managed two more scores as Perez connected with offensive specialist Martino Theus from 23-yards and WR/DB B'Jay Jones from 45-yards, but the Yard Dawgz had built up too big an advantage as they closed out the win. FINAL SCORE Oklahoma City 66, Laredo 41.

Perez was 20-33 for 316 yards and three passing TDs. Strickland was 19-27 for 206 yards and four touchdown passes. Law defensive specialist Traco Rachal picked off his fifth pass of the season.
