Stavisky Is Texas League Player of the Week

Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas - Arkansas Travelers Outfielder/DH Brian Stavisky has been named Texas League Player of the Week for the week of July 14 through July 20. During the week Stavisky batted .520 (13-for-25) with two home runs and eight RBI. He capped the week with the winning RBI Sunday night finishing the game with three RBI and three base hits.
Stavisky is batting .515 (17-for-33) over his last nine games with 10 RBI. The 28-year old from Port Allegeny, PA, was signed by the Angels as a free agent in May 2008 and has been a cornerstone of the Travs lineup. He leads the club in AVG/OBP/SLG batting .339/.426/.989 and has nine home runs and 28 RBI in 47 games.
Stavisky was originally signed by the Oakland Athletics out of Notre Dame as a sixth round draft choice in 2002.
