HARTFORD, December 10, 2012: On behalf of AEG Management CT and the XL Center, Senior Vice-President and General Manager Chuck Steedman today issued the following statement on the passing of WTIC-AM broadcasting legend Arnold Dean:

"It was my privilege to know Arnold for 28 years, and I was fortunate enough to work with him in several of my different roles over the years, at UConn, where I started my career, with the Red Sox, Raycom Sports and, of course, the XL Center. In each of those cases, our personal relationship transcended the professional one, and I can honestly say I have never known a finer gentleman than Arnold. He was a genuine mentor to me in every sense, and, like the entire listening population of Connecticut, I am grateful for having been able to enjoy Arnold's peerless work on the WTIC airwaves for so many years. He was truly "˜The Dean' of Connecticut sports media, and the heart and soul of Connecticut sports media. I will miss him dearly and his presence in the State will be greatly missed. The entire AEG organization extends its heartfelt condolences to his family."
