State College Spikes News Release
August 2 - C Devin Buckner added to active roster; INF Rafael Ramirez III removed from active roster
Buckner hit .332 with eight home runs and 51 runs batted in over 58 games at the University of South Carolina Upstate this past spring. The Lexington, Ky. native reached base at a .472 clip while collecting 14 doubles, two triples, five stolen bases and a Division I school record 63 runs scored. He also earned All-Big South Second Team honors on two occasions.
Buckner played five games for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League before joining the Spikes. He will wear number 25.
Also, please note that C Luis Aviles will now wear number 33.
