Lincoln Stars News Release
Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars lit the lamp first against Omaha and that's all it would take, as Lincoln would cruise to a 3-0 win on Friday night at the Ice Box.
The scoring opened when Stars forward Patrick Polino made a centering pass from his knees to line mate Ludvig Hoff, who buried the puck home at the 16:46 of the first period.
The second period would keep the same pattern as Lincoln found the back of the net once and held Omaha scoreless.
At 16:46 of the second, Stars forward Adam Brady received a bouncing puck from Hoff in the Omaha defensive zone and beat Lancer goalie Zackarias Skog on the blocker side. Lincoln goalie Peyton Jones stopped seven shots in the second period to make it 2-0 at the second intermission.
The Stars would add an insurance goal in the third when Hoff got his second of the night at the 10:02 of the period.
Peyton Jones finished the night with 22 saves to help the Stars to a 3-0 win.
Lincoln will be back in action next Friday night at the Ice Box. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. against the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
