Lumberjacks Welcome Mayor Gawron as Human Bowling Ball

Muskegon, Michigan. (October 2nd) -- Muskegon Mayor Steve Gawron and Port City's Kevin Donovan will test their bowling skills first-hand in the inaugural Sherman Bowling Center Sling-Shot Extravaganza during the second intermission of the Lumberjacks Home Opener.
Both Gawron and Donovan have agreed to become human bowling balls for this special event. Both will enjoy one, two, or many of the Lumberjacks' special deals of $1 Bud Selects/$1 Hot-Dogs prior to this "bucket-list" opportunity.
Gawron and Donovan will compete to see who can slingshot on a sled from crease-to-crease in a helmet and pads and knock down the most pins in one try down the ice. The Muskegon Lumberjacks' faithful fans will cheer as Gawron and Donovan hurtle down the ice in the ultimate on-ice human bowling event.
Gawron has been Muskegon's mayor since taking over office during the remainder of the previous mayor's term in July 2012 and being elected in 2013. He is a life-long resident of Muskegon as his family has been living in Mus- kegon for more than 140 years.
Donovan of Port City Construction and Development has played a major role in developing Muskegon as he has worked on projects including local schools, the Muskegon Family Care Facility and the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
In addition to this second period inaugural event in conjunction with the Sherman Bowling Center, the Lumberjacks will have live music with local favorite Xposure. Xposure will be rocking in the Party-Deck during pre-game, inter- missions and a special post-game set during the one-time-only post-game Chuck-a-Puck. Xposure is a West Michigan Band from Grand Rapids that specializes in jamming at venues with a variety of classic rock and 80s tunes. Xposure, made up of the Galas Brothers (Rand, John, Norm, Phil and Gary), invite all fans to party once doors open at 6:15 p.m. and to stick around going after the game to keep the party.
New food offerings, special games and more will also complement the tremendous on-ice action. Be sure to come early so you don't miss out on a salute to the Eastern Conference Champions as part of our pre-game ceremony.
