Lincoln, NE - Ludvig Hoff scored twice and added an assist for the Lincoln Stars as the Omaha Lancers dropped a 3-0 contest on the road Friday night in front of 3,650 at The Ice Box.

Lincoln took the lead late in the first period. Patrick Polino took a long pass in the neutral as he slid by the Lancers' defense for a breakaway chance. Polino went in and was denied by Lancers' goaltender Zackarias Skog as the rebound went behind the net. Polino gathered the puck as he was falling and sent the puck from the right side out to the front of the net where Ludvig Hoff let a one-timer fly that went over the shoulder of a diving Skog to give the Stars a 1-0 lead with only 3:14 to go. The only assist was credited to Polino, his second assist of the year on Hoff's third tally in three games.

While on the power play in the second period Lincoln took a two-goal lead. At the exact same time as the first period goal, Adam Brady took the puck in the offensive zone and let a low wrist shot go from the left circle that beat Zackarias Skog for a 2-0 lead with 3:14 left in the middle frame. Ludvig Hoff was credited with the only assist on the goal which was his fifth point of the year.

Ludvig Hoff finished off the night for the Stars with a power play goal of his own for the three-goal lead. Hoff let a shot go through traffic from above the offensive zone circles that was originally stopped by goaltender Zackarias Skog. However, the puck rolled through his pads and just crossed over the goal line for the 3-0 advantage. It was Hoff's third point of the night and second goal of the evening as well. Assists on the goal were credited to Anthony Wyse and Grant Jozefek.

Goaltender Zackarias Skog stopped 16 of 19 shots as the Lancers dropped to 1-2-0 on the season with the loss.

The Omaha Lancers stay on the road tomorrow night in Des Moines for their second contest against the Buccaneers this year. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. and fans can listen live beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Valpak Pregame Show on "The Mighty" 1290 KOIL, Mighty 1290 KOIL Mobile APP, www.mighty1290koil.com, and FASTHockey.com.
