
Stars Secure Fourth-Straight Victory

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (13-13) the official NBA G League Affiliate of the Utah Jazz, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (17-9) (Miami Heat Affiliate), 133-127, marking their fourth-straight victory.
Salt Lake City and Sioux Falls traded the lead 14 times with nine ties, in the back-and-forth affair. Stars guard Isaiah Thomas led all scorers with 30 points for the second-straight game, including 11 in the fourth quarter, along with eight assists and two rebounds. Utah Jazz two-way guard Jason Preston, recorded his third consecutive triple-double with 19 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, expanding his league lead to eight. Utah Jazz two-way forward Micah Potter, picked up his 15th double-double on the year, with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while blocking three shots. Off the bench, forward Justin Lewis tallied 17 points, on seven-for-12 shooting for the Stars.
The Stars and Skyforce traded leads four times in the opening three minutes, before a 10-2 Salt Lake City run, and Potter's 10-point quarter pushed the Stars to take the lead, 34-27. In the second quarter, Sioux Falls held the Salt Lake City offense to 17 percent shooting from three, and just 22 points in the quarter. After five lead changes, the Stars were sent to the locker room trailing the Skyforce, 60-56.
The third quarter featured two major swings. The Stars opened the frame on a 24-9 run, taking their largest lead of the game with 11 points. However, the Skyforce responded with a 27-5 run, to take their own 11 point lead at 96-85. Sioux Falls entered the fourth quarter with a 98-93 advantage, which was quickly erased as Salt Lake City's Thomas and Keshawn Justice combined for 21 points in the frame. The Stars shot 54 percent from the field in the fourth, earning their fourth-straight victory, 133-127.
Guard Alondes Williams led the Skyforce with 25 points and 14 assists, in almost 45 minutes of action. Forward Jamal Cain recorded a triple-double of his own, with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
The Stars return to Utah for a Tuesday morning showdown with the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks affiliate) at Delta Center. The contest tips off at 10:30 A.M. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on Jazz+ and ESPN+.
