HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - After missing a term, Hunter "The Mayor" Morris has been re-elected. He was named Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Player of the Month for June, his second such honor from the parent club this season.

The first baseman posted a .307 (31-for-101) batting average for the month with 13 extra-base hits. In 27 games, he recorded seven home runs and 27 RBIs, both Southern League highs for the month.

The Huntsville native is currently third in the Southern League in average (.308), but leads the league in hits (106), doubles (29) and total bases (185). His .538 slugging percentage is second-best in the league, along with his 68 RBIs. The former Auburn Tiger is fourth in home runs (14). Morris' 47 extra-base hits lead the Southern League and are tied for the fifth-most in all of Minor League Baseball.

This award is one on a long list of honors Morris has received in his last three seasons. He was named to the Southern League All-Star team this season and was also named the Brewers Minor League Player of the Month in April. He was named the Topps Southern League Player of the Month for June and just received Southern League Hitter of the Week honors for July 2 - 8. In 2011, Morris was named a MiLb.com Organizational All-Star and the "Best Power Hitter" in the Brewers organization by Baseball America for the second consecutive season.
