SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (9-12) , the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, fought back from a 26-point deficit, but came up short, falling to the Osceola Magic (12-7) (Orlando Magic affiliate), 113-111, in the first game of their back-to-back set, Monday night at the Maverik Center.

The Stars were led by Utah Jazz two-way guard Jason Preston, who recorded his third triple-double of the season, with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Utah Jazz two-way player Micah Potter was dominant, posting a 32 point, 17 rebound double-double, knocking down four three-pointers on the night. Stars forward Taevion Kinsey totaled 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Meanwhile, forward Justin Lewis, came off the bench to add 10 points, and eight rebounds, on five-of-eight shooting.

The Stars and Magic went back-and-forth in the first quarter, trading the lead 10 times through the opening 12 minutes. Despite eight points in the quarter from Preston, the Magic managed to grab a 32-31 lead to end the frame. In the second, Osceola caught fire from the field, outscoring Salt Lake City 40-19, while shooting .650. The Stars trailed by as much as 26 in the quarter, but trimmed the halftime deficit to 72-50.

Salt Lake City put the clamps on defensively in the third, holding Osceola to .240 shooting in the quarter. The Stars opened the frame on a 28-6 run, and after outscoring the magic 36-14, entered the final period tied at 86. The back-and-forth resumed in the fourth, seeing four ties, and seven lead changes. After Osceola split a pair of free throws, Salt Lake City had a chance to tie or take the lead with seven seconds remaining, but attempts by Potter and Preston came up just short.

Orlando Magic two-way player Trevelin Queen posted 25 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 33 minutes, as he led the Magic offensive charge. Meanwhile, fellow Orlando Magic two-way player Kevon Harris, filled the statline with 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.

The Stars homestand wraps on Tuesday, February 27, with the second half of their back-to-back against the Osceola Magic at the Maverik Center. The contest tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on Jazz+ and nbagleague.com.
