Starlight Stadium Officially Renamed
September 19, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Pacific FC News Release
Langford, BC - Today marks the ceremonial renaming of Starlight Stadium by Toronto-based Starlight Investments at Pacific FC's match against Atlético Ottawa at 2 pm.
"Starlight shares your passion for sports and we're proud to support Pacific FC, the Westshore Rebels and Rugby Canada at Starlight Stadium," said Glen Hirsh, Chief Operating Officer, Starlight Investments. "We've been a part of the community on Vancouver Island for more than 10 years and look forward to continuing our involvement in the growth of its neighbourhoods."
The former Westhills Stadium was renamed in the spring of 2021, but a formal event to mark the occasion was delayed due to the pandemic. The stadium has a capacity of just over 6,000 seats and is home to Pacific FC, the Westshore Rebels football team and Rugby Canada.
"The City of Langford is pleased that Starlight Investments, as the largest corporate sponsorship in Langford history, has the naming rights for the Stadium," said Langford Mayor Stew Young. "This is a big deal for Langford and for Pacific FC and we are happy to have them on board."
The first 1,500 fans to today's match will receive a commemorative towel and a Starlight Stadium water bottle.
Pacific FC currently tops the Canadian Premier League standings with ten wins, five draws and three loses. The team looks forward to their remaining three matches in front of a home crowd in Langford. In October, Pacific will host Valour FC of Winnipeg on the 16th, FC Edmonton on the 26th and York United FC of Greater Toronto on the 30th.
