Stanley Cup Coming To Birmingham This Friday

Birmingham, AL — The Stanley Cup, hockey's most coveted trophy, will be on display this Friday at AmSouth Harbert Plaza in downtown Birmingham.

The Stanley Cup will be on display from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the promenade level of AmSouth Harbert Plaza.

All Slammers fans are invited to bring a camera and take pictures of hockey's holy grail. Slammers players and mascot "Hammer" will also be on hand from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for pictures and autographs. Mike Bolt, Hockey Hall of Fame and Official Cup Keeper, will also be available for pictures and questions.

Birmingham is the fourth stop of this year's Hockey Fights Cancer Stanley Cup Tour, courtesy of Southwest Airlines. Each year, the Stanley Cup tours the United States, bringing the joy and excitement of the NHL to fans across the country. The tour is designed to galvanize support for Hockey Fights Cancer and build excitement for the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs. Since 1998, Hockey Fights Cancer has raised more than $7 million for cancer research organizations and Children's Hospitals throughout North America.

Fans who go see the Stanley Cup on Friday will also have the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to Hockey Fights Cancer, the joint charitable initiative between the NHL and NHL Players' Association.

AmSouth Harbert Plaza is located at 1901 Sixth Avenue, North in downtown Birmingham.
