Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders will take another crack at clinching first place in the West Division when they travel to Winnipeg on Friday to face the Blue Bombers. It's the penultimate game of the season for both sides and kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. MDT.
Calgary (12-4) has missed back-to-back opportunities to lock up top spot with home losses to BC and Saskatchewan the past two weeks. It's the first consecutive defeats of the season for the Red and White. Meanwhile, the Bombers (9-7) need a win to clinch a playoff berth.
The Stamps are a perfect 6-0 lifetime at the Bombers' current home, Investors Group Field, which opened in 2013. Including games at the since-demolished Canad Inns Stadium, Calgary has prevailed in the nine most recent visits to the Manitoba capital. Overall, the Stamps are 18-2 against the Blue Bombers since Week 2 of the 2009 season.
The Stamps and Bombers had one previous meeting this season - a 39-26 Calgary victory in Week 11 at McMahon Stadium.
Calgary is 4-4 against the West Division so far this season and 5-2 on the road. The Blue Bombers are also 4-4 against the West and are 5-3 on home field.
