(Calgary) - Today, Calgary Stampeders' Senior VP of Football Operations/Head Coach, Tom Higgins, announced the free agent signing of Quarterback Danny Wimprine.
As per Club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Attended Memphis playing in four seasons ... completed 808 of 1,469 passes for 10,215 yards, 81 touchdowns and 49 interceptions ... He also recorded 279 rushing attempts for 515 yards and 11 touchdowns ... in 2004 Wimprine led the Tigers to a winning season playing in 11 games and won eight of them ... he finished the season completing 225 of 398 passes for 2,892 yards, 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions ... on October 16 vs Tulane Wimprine had his most accurate game completing 19 of 24 passes for a 79.2 completion percentage ... a couple of games later he recorded a season high in passing yards on November 4 vs Louisville ... completing 24 of 46 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns ... in 2003 Wimprine led the Tigers to a victory in the New Orleans Bowl game against North Texas ... in the game he completed 17 of 23 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown ... he also ran for a touchdown and was named the game's MVP ... that season he completed 246 of 440 passes for 3,174 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions ... recorded some big games statistically ... early in the season on September 6 vs Mississippi, Danny completed 18 of 32 passes for 355 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions ... he finished the season winning six of the last seven games ... in 2002 he played in 12 games and completed 235 of 435 passes for 2,820 yards, 23 touchdowns and 18 interceptions ... in the first game of the season he completed 23 of 32 passes for 225 yards, five touchdowns and 0 interceptions in a 52-6 victory over Murray State ... in his first season with Memphis Wimprine completed 102 of 196 passes for 1,329 yards, 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions ... may have had his best performance on November 17 vs Army where he completed 12 of 21 passes for 203 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception.
