Stamps Sign Three Draft Picks

The Calgary Stampeders have signed three of their selections from the 2016 Canadian Football League draft including offensive lineman Roman Grozman (fourth round, 33rd overall), defensive back Jean-Philippe Bolduc (fifth round, 38th overall) and linebacker/long snapper Pierre-Luc Caron (fifth round, 42nd overall).

The signings mean that all seven of the Stamps' 2016 draft picks are now under contract.

Roman Grozman

Offensive lineman

College: Concordia

Height: 6.05

Weight: 315

Born: Dec. 13, 1992

Grozman played four seasons (2012-15) at Concordia. In 2015, he earned a spot in the 13th Annual CIS East-West Bowl. Grozman was born in Israel and his family moved to Canada when he was 10 years old. He began playing football in Grade 9.

Jean-Philippe Bolduc

Defensive back

College: Laval

Height: 6.01

Weight: 210

Born: Dec. 12, 1990

Bolduc was part of the stingy Laval Rouge et Or defence that in 2015 allowed a mere 240.9 passing yards and 12.6 points per game. In eight games for Laval, Bolduc had 21.5 tackles, one interception returned 41 yards and one fumble recovery.

Pierre-Luc Caron

Linebacker

College: Laval

Height: 6.02

Weight: 220

Born: Feb. 2, 1994

Caron was a linebacker and four-year first-string long snapper for Laval. In 2015, he had 7.5 tackles and was a key part of a Laval special-teams unit that led the Quebec conference in field-goal percentage and was second in punting average.
