Stamps Host Purolator Tackle Hunger Game
The Calgary Stampeders are proud to continue their partnership with Purolator Inc. for the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive in support of the Calgary Food Bank.
This year's food drive will be held on Saturday as the Stampeders face the Montreal Alouettes at McMahon Stadium at 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make cash, credit or debit-tap donations to Purolator volunteers stationed at the stadium gates. All proceeds from the food drive will support the Calgary Food Bank.
Fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Grey Cup near the C-Train walkway on the east side of McMahon Stadium.
Members of the media will be able to speak with Stamps offensive lineman Derek Dennis, who is in his second year as the team's player ambassador for the program, along with representatives from Purolator and the Calgary Food Bank at McMahon Stadium on Friday following the team's 10:40 a.m. walkthrough practice.
"I'm proud to return for another year as the Stampeders' spokesperson for the Purolator Tackle Hunger program," said Dennis. "Food bank use is on the rise and the need for donations is greater than ever. I know Stamps fans will again come through for this important cause."
In 2018, Stamps fans donated 64,502 pounds of food to the Calgary portion of the Tackle Hunger program. Since 2003, Stamps fans have donated more than 1.1 million lbs. of food.
