The Calgary Stampeders travel to Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field for their one and only meeting with the Tiger-Cats in 2023. Kickoff at Tim Hortons Field is 5 p.m. MDT.
Both teams are looking to bounce back after losses last week as the Stamps (4-10) fell 28-11 at home against the Montreal Alouettes while the Ticats (6-8) suffered a 29-14 setback on the road against the Toronto Argonauts.
Calgary and Hamilton split their two-game series in 2022 with each team winning by a field goal in the other's stadium. The Stamps were 33-30 winners in Hamilton in a game that needed overtime while the Ticats won 35-32 at McMahon Stadium.
The Stamps are 2-5 away from McMahon so far this season and 2-4 against the East Division. Hamilton is 2-5 at home and 3-2 against West Division clubs.
On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Stampeders and Tiger-Cats will both be wearing orange jerseys during the pre-game warmup.
The Stamps' helmets for both the warmup and the game will feature a special logo designed by Jacob Alexis, Richard Running Rabbit and Siksika Health Services CEO Dr. Tyler White. The basic concept for the special logo emulates the Contemporary Plains Style Traditional Art and also features custom numbers and braid-style striping to honour the people and traditional use of the braid in the Indigenous communities.
Fans have a chance to obtain the pre-game jerseys by purchasing tickets in a 50/50 draw that is running every day until Saturday, with proceeds benefitting local youth programming in each of the Treaty 7 First Nation Communities. Tickets are available at Stampeders.com
After a bye in Week 17, the Stampeders will be back on home turf on Oct. 13 to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
